Your Murphy Bed Questions Answered

Getting a Murphy Bed is a big investment and you probably have a lot of questions. We’ve compiled a list of Frequently Asked Questions below. If you have a question we didn’t answer you can leave it as a comment or fill out our contact form.

What Does a Murphy Bed Cost?

Our base model Queen or full-size Murphy Bed, fully finished and installed within the Brazos Valley starts at $5000. We can add side cabinets, bookshelves, and a Murphy Desk, which all affect the cost. We are working on a detailed pricing guide to better answer this question. On average the typical Murphy Bed Cabinet Package with side bookcases is between $8,000-$10,000. “All-in” builds with cabinetry, Murphy desks, and other features can be upwards of $13,000 installed.

Do You Offer Financing

We don’t offer in-house financing at this time but there a many options to spread the cost of your project out over time. See this article: Financing Options for Your Cabinetry Project

Where do you deliver and install Murphy Beds?

We install Murphy Beds throughout the Brazos Valley and surrounding areas. We’re located in Bryan, Texas, and will travel up to 3 hours one way to deliver and install your Murphy Bed.

What all is included, are they fully customizable regarding color, shelving, layout, etc?

We are a complete custom shop so we can build exactly what you want. We sell our Murphy bed packages “Turn-Key Installations” meaning that we build it to your specifications, finish it in your choice of colors, install it in your home, and fully clean up after ourselves.

All you have to provide is a mattress and your desired cabinet handles or knobs (We will install them for you)

What is your Average Lead Time?

We are an intentionally small cabinet shop. This means you work directly with me, the craftsman who is going to build your Murphy Bed, not a salesman that you’ll never see again. This means it takes us a little longer to build your Murphy Bed. On average, we have about a 10-12 week lead time from design to installation.

What is the Size of the mattress? Do they use Standard sizes for sheets and bedcovers or do I have to special order like an RV or dorm mattress?

Our Murphy beds use STANDARD mattresses! We build Murphy Beds in Twin, Twin XL, Full, and Queen Sizes. We do not provide mattresses with our Murphy Beds so pick a mattress you like or use one you already have! The only requirement is that the mattress be 12 inches thick or less, including a pillowtop.

What type of pulls/handles do I need?

We recommend two 8in or larger pulls for the bed. You want pulls that are easy to get your hands around easily.
